My winter break is gone D:
It’s Saturday night, and school starts on Monday. Time to review how I spent my break:
Friday 2/17: Coach moved practice up to 2:00, so people would have times to “make themselves beautiful” before Sadies. We ended up training with the sprinters, and we did plyometrics (think P90X) with them. At 7, most of the distance runners went to Michael’s house because we’re all loners. I had to leave at 10 to go work at the hospital.
Saturday 2/18: I passed my UCNA exams for the CVICU unit. Got back home around 7 and slept for a couple hours. When I woke up, my leg muscles were all dead and sore, so I decided not to run. Some rich guy invited us to his niece’s 3 month old birthday party, where he invited some 100 people to Dynasty Seafood. It was great free food and everything, but I didn’t really like the guy. He has a big ego, and was constantly talking to me about my future. I played LoL for the rest of the day (I know, productive).
Sunday 2/19: After church, we ate at Orange Tree. Then I went home and did nothing.
Monday 2/20: On Friday, we had to work out with the sprinters, so on Monday, the sprinters had to work out with us. We took them up Horse (a 1.5 mile uphill trek with absolutely no shade). Most of the sprinters failed to make it up without walking, but it was funny in a cruel way. Monday afternoon, my family decided to make a overnight trip to Monterey. We got there late afternoon, so we checked in at our hotel, walked around a bit, ate at Chili’s, then watched Transformers 3 on the hotel TV.
Tuesday 2/21: I biked in the mountains while my parents and my sister were on the beach. It was fun. Then we went home.
Wednesday 2/22: Woke up at 8, ran railroad tracks at 10. I wasn’t feeling good that day, so I took it really easy. I was going to drive Kirsten and John home, but I had to return something to Ajay first. I gave them my keys, then went off to look for Ajay. When I got back, Kirsten was sitting on the roof of my car, and John was standing in the window frame. I’m fairly surprised that I didn’t die driving them home. Played LoL for the rest of the day.
Thursday 2/23: I’d been planning to go to SF with Andrew and others, but something came up in the afternoon, so I couldn’t go. Hill repeats - ARVIND IS SO FAST. Julia became dehydrated partway through, so some people had to carry her down. More LoL!
Friday 2/24: Plyo’s again, because Coach didn’t show up (again), so we had to stick with the sprinters. My sister left in the morning to attend some 2 day sleepover party, so I had the house to myself. I went to subway with the guys for lunch, then went home… and played more LoL. Hung out with Alan and Josh a bit. 5:30, I went to church to practice for Sunday’s church service, and 6:30 was youth group. At 10, I left for the hospital again (NICU rotation).
Saturday 2/25: Got back home, slept a couple hours. Woke up too late to go run, so I’ve been sitting at home all day doing nothing. I’m sort of getting sick of LoL, so I haven’t been playing at all today.
Most of my winter break has disappeared with a lot of LoL and running and food. The problem is that if I don’t run in the morning, then I feel like I’ve wasted the day. If I run in the morning, then I can justify playing games all day. #cycle of failure
