Day 6, Concert 3: Keyboard malfunctions
The past 2 concerts and three rehearsals were pretty good. We had some volume issues in the first rehearsal, but we fixed them during the next two rehearsals and the last two concerts.
Today, the guy in the back that controls the routing volume of our keyboards turned it down without telling us. Also, my low low low A key was extremely sticky and refused to go down properly. I figured out the volume problem halfway through Aladdin, and then we spent the rest of the concert messing with the volume. Before the change, we knew exactly where to set our knobs to; today, we were experimenting all over again. We were too soft in I Don’t Know How to Love Him and too loud in Fully Dressed.
In Tomorrow, Galli let Sara play it instead of Brandon. Sara had never done it before, and she missed the first measure altogether.
Afterwards, I found out that she had invited her piano teacher (who is also mine) to watch the concert. There was this awkward moment when he spotted me after the concert.
Okay, so I’ve had like 3 hours of sleep in the past 40 hours, so I’m going to crash early tonight.
